* Story Time Yoga For Children 2 to 5 Years Old *

Join us for 30 minutes of yoga and stories.  Children learn simple yoga postures, and we incorporate these postures into the stories.  Children are encouraged to participate as much or as little as they desire.  Sometimes they like to step back and observe, while other times they are almost leading the group.  As the story is read we interpret animals, objects, nature, etc. through yoga postures.  It provides children with listening skills, physical activity, and being in a group environment, and it is just plain FUN!

Prenatal Yoga With Colleen Dwyer, CI, E-RYT

“All the breathing, focus, and relaxation techniques Colleen taught me were a tremendous blessing throughout the process.  From contractions to the apprehension pre-surgery, to recovery and even learning to breastfeed - I was able to call upon Colleen’s techniques to deal with the pain and discomfort.”  Coni G. - Madison, TN

Stay or get in shape during your pregnancy with yoga.  This is a great opportunity for pregnant women to practice prenatal yoga in a supportive environment that helps prepare them for the delivery of their baby and for motherhood. You need to be strong to be pregnant and to be a mom, not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well.  The skills learned in yoga are challenges that are mirrored in being a mother; focus, patience, calmness, strength, and compassion.

This prenatal class is being offered to help prepare you for childbirth.  You will learn much more than posture modifications; each class will include: breath work, awareness of pushing positions, pelvic floor awareness and exercises, abdominal exercises, getting comfortable with making sound, as well as finding an appropriate balance of postures and relaxation.  It is important to strengthen your body during your pregnancy, as well as to be mindful of giving yourself resting time.

You will be provided with tips to help sooth some issues that may come up during your pregnancy; low back pain, tight psoas muscle, sciatica, insomnia, and others.  You will learn to exhale push, which can help relieve constipation, and can be used to push your baby out.  You will be educated on the the abdominal muscles: the muscles that will assist your labor.  Each class you attend will give you the opportunity to become more comfortable with the changes that are occurring in your body.  Your growing knowledge of your body can help you to feel empowered.

The class format will be based on Colleen’s prenatal certification “Prenatal Yoga For Two”, as well as her own individual style of teaching.  Colleen has over 11 years yoga experience, and she joyously shares her obvious passion with her students.

60 Minute Private Sessions - $45

“Colleen's prenatal yoga class was a highlight of my pregnancy, something I looked forward to every week. When it came to labor and delivery, yoga practice was integral in staying centered and relaxed, and I am grateful to have had such a wonderful teacher.” Lydia - Nashville, TN

”The focus, body awareness, undulations, breathing, and my internal mantra of ‘releasing resistance’ while concurrently using the strength of the contractions was primarily due to Colleen’s instruction and her steadfast reminders to trust my body.  I was able to endure 9 hours of labor without an induction or epidural and gave birth to a beautiful daughter.  I absolutely believe I would not have gotten through this life-changing marathon without some key players:  My husband, who was the most amazing support coach, the midwives and their willingness to guide me through, and Colleen, whose skill, healing intuition for the body/mind balance and her kindness were invaluable.   Every woman’s birth experience is so unique, with the ultimate goal of bringing a precious new life into this world, and Colleen’s pre-natal classes prepared me physically, mentally and emotionally for this new adventure—she is amazing!”  Brienne R. - East Nashville, TN
